Housing Subsidy

Our government is expanding its housing subsidy plan for newlyweds. Twenty thousand families can apply for a housing loan with zero interest for two years. But some couples worry that after the two years, they can’t afford the loan. Young couples choose their house, hope to settle down and get married. But many of them are concerned with the financial problem that comes with starting a new family.

Government plans to provide subsidies for low middle-income families to rent or purchase a home. Now it plans on increasing the quota. Originally the quota is 10,000, now it increase to 20,000.The benefits include a NT$3,600 monthly rent subsidy and a preferential mortgage loan. If young couples choose to buy a home, they can enjoy zero interest for the first two years on loans up to NT$2 million. It is good news for newlyweds and a two-year subsidy is pretty decent considering the common rate these days. If qualification is too strict, it’s impossible to get approved.
